Email dilemma, latest issue, etc.

Postby dansbanners » Thu Aug 12, 2021 10:18 am

Dear Admin,

I was wondering why I haven't been receiving your e-newsletter all along? Turned out the "Receive Newsletters" box was unmarked in my profile (i.e. is unmark the default?).

That if I hadn't asked a net marketing associate of mine who's also a member of DLF a casual question, I wouldn't have known about the latest issue mentioned in the last e-newsletter.

It got me wondering that maybe there are also some other DLF members that wouldn't know about it either?

Perhaps, maybe you should either have a "News" page somewhere in DLF or at the very least, also post the latest news in the forum. As a backup in case some members don't also receive your email?

Hope this helps.

Also, maybe put the receive newsletter option as on for default if it isn't already set that way.

I regularly test the email system, and have not had any issues. The problem must be at your end.
The default is "Subscribed" for everyone. If you click the "Unsubscribe" link in any of our emails it will unsubscribe you from the entire newsletter and autoresponder system. It's easy to click that link by mistake.

Here's what we recommend to everyone:

1.) Ensure you are using a Gmail email address.
2.) Ensure that your email inbox is not full.
3.) Ensure that support@downlinefarm.com is added to your email's contact list.
4.) Ensure that your email account is not set to vacation mode or auto-reply.
5.) Set up a Filter for our emails, and check the box "Never send to spam"

I still think the idea of having the newsletter duplicated on this Forum for a backup is an excellent idea. What can it hurt?

Yes, many sites have an admin news section in their forums.

Though usually it is just used to promote the latest sale.

I just purchased .mac and I was trying to update my email address for the forums here, and it says I cannot use any account from free email companies or something along those lines. Is there any way around this? Its not like .mac email address are free.
